The Clarke NYC program, in Manhattan, helps children ages 0-6 as early as possible with quality audition, speech and language training. The younger hearing-impaired children are when they begin to learn language, the greater their self-confidence and ability to learn throughout life. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment that stimulates cognitive, social and emotional development and to equip children with the listening and English language skills and self-confidence they need to succeed in schools with their hearing peers. We believe that children with hearing loss who develop listening and spoken language skills at an early age have infinite possibilities. At Clarke NYC, parents are partners in the learning process. About 85 percent of children enrolled at Clarke NYC have cochlear implants and we work closely with local implant centers. The Clarke NYC program is staffed by professionals who are experienced in early childhood education, auditory/oral education and speech and language pathology. They are deeply committed to helping children build a strong foundation in English, using audition.
