Cleary School for the Deaf

Cleary aims to serve children who are profoundly deaf, deaf/blind,
multiply-disabled deaf, or functionally deaf. Educational services are available from infancy through twenty-one years of age. Cleary School for the Deaf, located in Suffolk County on Long Island, has two separate campuses. The beautiful five acre elementary campus in Nesconset is one-half mile from Lake Ronkonkoma. The Secondary Program is housed at the thirteen hundred students, district high school in East Islip. Programs include: Parent-Infant, Preschool/Elementary, Secondary, Auditory-Oral Based Includsion Preschool, & Guidance Department. Student activities include: Deaf Awareness Week, Holidays, Holiday Show, Earth Day, Deaf Awareness Day, The Garden, Spring Arts Festival, School-wide field trips, & extra-curricular activities.

Cleary School for the Deaf offers a uniquely designed educational setting which facilitates the holistic development of children who are deaf. Cleary provides a variety of services and curricula conducive to learning and growth within a safe and secure environment. Our staff strives to maintain high standards of excellence as we serve children who are deaf, their families, the deaf community and the community at large. Cleary School is a non-profit, non-sectarian, privately owned by Catholic Charities, state supported, full time day school for the deaf. Cleary currently uses the Bi-Lingual/Bi-Cultural philosophy (Bi-Bi).
