HASC is a special education preschool in Brooklyn. HASC do not only work with Jewish children. As a special education setting, we offer many different types of services at our center or in the parent's home, including speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. However, we are NOT equipped to service deaf children, but we do service several hearing children whose parents are deaf. This is important because many deaf parents are concerned about their hearing children having speech delays (or other delays) and have a very difficult time accessing services for their kids because of the language barrier. As a social worker proficient in ASL, I have been able to help many of these parents secure evaluations for their children and I have acted as translator (I am not a certified interpreter) during the evaluations and subsequent meetings with the Dept. of Education. We can provide evaluations and services for children from birth until 5 years of age. Contact for further information.
