National Jewish Council for the Disabled/Yachad

NJCD/Yachad is dedicated to addressing the needs of all individuals with disabilities and including them in the Jewish community. Our membership is divided into three groups: Junior Yachad (8 to 16 years of age); Senior Yachad (17 to 28 years of age), and Rayim Yachad ( 29 years of age and up). Yachad members participate in several mainstreamed activities per month. There are Yachad chapters located throughout the United States and Canada. Yachad activities provide our members with opportunities for personal growth and enriched lives. The 'inclusive design' gives our special population their rightful place within the Jewish community, while helping to educate the community about our members' abilities and strengths. Programs include: Our Way, Social Skills Training, School Programs, birthright israel, Summer Programs, Vocational Program, and National Resource Center.
